PTA Reflections Arts Program

The 2026-27 PTA Reflections Arts Program invites students Pre-K through Grade 12 to explore the theme "What My Culture Means to Me" - a concept created by Sophia Partola from Wilton High School PTSA in Connecticut. This theme encourages students to express what their culture means to them through original works of art. 

The Reflections Art Program is a National PTA event which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. It strives to increase awareness & the importance of arts in education. The contest is nationwide, beginning at the school level & winning artists can advance through to council, district, state & national levels. Children from preschool through 12th grade are invited to participate in the following areas:

  • Dance Choreography
  • Literature
  • Photography
  • Film Production
  • Music Composition
  • Visual Arts
  • Special Artist

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

  • Unleash creative talents and be inspired
  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
  • Experience the fun and joy of making art
  • Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art

While your student is exploring this year's theme - 'WHAT MY CULTURE MEANS TO ME," please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Entries must be inspired by the current annual theme.
  • Entries must be new artwork, created for the Reflections program. 
  • Entries must be original artwork created by one student only. Only (1) student is awarded per entry.
  • Entries must include an original title and artist statement.
  • If you use technology or digital platforms to create an entry, you must include a brief description of how the tool(s) was used.

Printed entry forms were included in your child's Friday folder on September 25th. All entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form with an Artist's Statement. 

All entries must be submitted by Friday, October 16th. Visual Arts entries must be turned in at the Eader front gate by 8:40am. All other entries may be submitted online anytime prior to October 16th. Completed entry forms for digital entries can be submitted to the Eader office.
